YGG Token Launches on Abstract
Yield Guild Games (YGG) has launched the YGG token on Abstract, an Ethereum Layer 2 chain that aims to simplify Web3 onboarding through consumer-first features. Developed by Igloo Inc., the parent firm behind the Web3 IP Pudgy Penguins, Abstract has garnered significant attention from casual gamers, content creators, and crypto degens since its mainnet launch in January 2025.
Abstract provides a powerful foundation for Web3 games and more with its application of chain abstraction, which makes it easier for projects to scale across ecosystems. The chain also removes many onboarding barriers by integrating features such as shared key storage, social logins, and passkeys. This ease of access aligns naturally with YGG’s community-focused approach to Web3 gaming.
Pudgy Penguins has seen strong support from the YGG community, especially with the launch of the Vibes trading card game (TCG). The TCG was included in YGG’s Guild Advancement Program (GAP), where players were introduced to the game’s mechanics and challenged to climb its leaderboard.
Abstract’s push to serve the casual gaming audience is intended to attract more Web3 games appealing to the YGG community to build on the chain. With the YGG token now available on Abstract, this gives the Abstract community new ways to engage with YGG while YGG further expands its reach.
Frictionless, Scalable, and User-Friendly
Community members will be able to swap their YGG tokens for other tokens available on the chain, such as the PENGU token, through the Abstract Global Wallet and through a YGG/ETH pair on Uniswap soon. Gasless payments are also made possible through Abstract’s Paymasters, which makes transactions and the overall gaming experience smoother. As Abstract expands its partnerships with more developers, dapps, and content creators joining the chain, YGG is strengthening its presence on the chain to capture new growth opportunities.

Several casual games have launched on Abstract including Cambria, Captain & Company, Onchain Heroes, Roach Racing Club, and Gacha. Several dapps, NFT collections, and businesses with Web3 integration have also launched since Abstract’s mainnet went online, such as Myriad, Finalbosu, and Rekt Drinks.
YGG’s token launch on Abstract is the latest since its expansion to Base in late 2024. Currently, the YGG token is available on Base, Ethereum, Polygon, Ronin, and BNB Chain, which have had growing gaming player bases and projects in the last several years.
