YGG’s Latest Game Partners
Yield Guild Games has added a new set of fun play-to-earn games to its roster of partners. With each newly acquired in-game asset, more players are given the opportunity to earn real-world rewards from engaging gameplay. Ranging in genre from farming simulation and move-to-earn to car racing and MMORPG, this new assortment of games will cater to the YGG community’s wide spectrum of preferences as soon as they launch.
More than 40 of YGG’s game partners were carefully chosen by YGG’s asset acquisition team and went through various criteria that revolve around token economics and mechanics, the utility of NFTs in the game, and general gameplay. This article will take a look at play-to-earn games that Yield Guild Games has formed partnerships with in the first half of 2022 to help onboard the next million scholars to the Metaverse.
Fancy Birds
This year, YGG partnered with Fancy Birds, a play-to-earn mobile game targeting the casual mini-game niche. With compelling and addictive game mechanics, Fancy Birds is rekindling the viral side-scroller, Flappy Bird. It has a single-player mode, where users can complete daily missions, like flying a certain amount of time or earning a certain amount of points to generate a fixed amount of its governance and reward token, FNC. The same token is used for staking, customizing, earning and breeding.
The guild acquired 100 custom Genesis Fancy Birds with YGG traits as part of the first Genesis set. This acquisition will allow YGG to have the most breeding capacity of Fancy Birds as future generations may have limited capacity compared to the Genesis set. Fancy Birds will also create a custom guild dashboard for each partner guild, which will allow YGG scholars to borrow, play, earn and breed with YGG-branded Fancy Birds.
MonkeyLeague
MonkeyLeague is a fast-paced, turn-based arcade football NFT game built on the Solana blockchain. Blending game elements of FIFA Street and Final Fantasy, MonkeyLeague sets itself apart by prioritizing an esports component. The game is also backed by the founders of DraftKings, one of the leading esports companies in the world.
The game offers three game modes: Player vs. Environment, Player vs. Player and Team vs. Team. MBS is the primary in-game token of the MonkeyLeague Metaverse. Players will be able to collect MBS via Loot Boxes, purchase Monkeys with MBS, and spend MBS on consumable items in the native store to level up Monkeys. Players can earn MBS through active engagement and passive engagement. For example, players can earn MBS not only by playing and winning matches but also by being match spectators and cheering for the winning team or owning a stadium to host matches.
YGG has purchased Monkey NFTs, offering YGG scholars an opportunity to engage in a game that will reward competitive play and offer true ownership of in-game assets.
Mavia
Crafted by Skrice Studios, Heroes of Mavia is a play-to-earn MMO strategy game that takes fantasy elements from the popular mobile strategy base-building game Clash of Clans. Players build and grow their bases, train armies, and battle other players across the Mavia island. As the player’s base and army grow, they are able to attack more challenging opponents and earn tokens in return, which can be used to upgrade the base itself and create special super-troops called Heroes.
RUBY is the in-game currency that allows players to upgrade their NFTs, rewarding them for successful attacks and milestones in the game. It is awarded to players on any successful offensive battle and decisive defensive victory.
YGG has participated in the seed round of Mavia and engaged in a YGG/RUBY token swap, which will enable the YGG community to participate in the game. The guild also purchased NFT land assets in the game, which includes Common bases, Rare bases, and Legendary bases. Out of these, the Legendary bases acquired will be designed with custom YGG branding.
Nyan Heroes
Yield Guild Games also acquired Genesis NFTs in Nyan Heroes, a third-person shooter game built on the Solana blockchain, where players battle each other as they control their Nyans and the Nyans’ giant robot counterparts. The Genesis NFTs grant YGG early rights to land sales and land presales, as well as an opportunity to participate in the early access and beta tests of Nyan Heroes.
The game has four different modes: Player vs. Environment, Player vs. Player, Guild Mode and RPG mode. Nyan Heroes’ Guardian robots come in nine different classes, each with traits that provide players with a wide array of abilities. Guardian NFTs that are purchased will earn greater token yield compared to free-to-play Guardians.
By playing the game, users will earn CTNP and NYN as rewards for various tasks including winning battles in PVP, adventure mode, guild quests, and raids. NYN is a multifunctional governance token that will also be crucial to performing various marketplace transactions for NFT trades.
Synesis One
Synesis One is a DAO for gamified data farming and an NFT Data Marketplace for AI, offering a revolutionary way for NFT holders to earn sizeable rewards through playing games while training AI systems in natural language.
In the game, the world’s first sentient AI, called EVI, is under attack. Players solve a series of word puzzles that represent EVI’s scrambled memory banks and the underlying problems in EVI’s code. The game integrates a puzzle-driven narrative and AI technology. The first players to solve a puzzle, clear a level, complete the final AlphaOmega Puzzle or finish the entire game will win SNS tokens.
YGG has purchased SNS tokens and 250 Kanon NFTs. These NFTs will serve as players’ keys to access Quantum Noesis and earn rewards in SNS. As the native governance token, SNS will be staked to play games within the Synesis One ecosystem. Moreover, the rewards that gamers earn in-game will be given out in SNS tokens, where Kanon NFT holders will earn claimable passive rewards in SNS whenever the word on their NFT is used by AI clients.
Solarbots
Solarbots is a social RPG that promises players an immersive gaming experience where they can pick up a variety of roles in different factions and use their skills in a fully player-controlled and resource-oriented game economy. Players will need a team of four Solarbots from one of the three factions to participate in the PVE and PVP game modes. Players can also participate in Solarbots and its game economy through Gathering, Crafting, Guilds and Landlordship.
The main idea behind creating such an ecosystem comes from a token economy that sustains the community, combined with visually appealing customizable assets and engaging gameplay. Players can expect rewards in Solstones (SOLS) and other tokens or NFTs such as crafting recipes or uncut gems when playing these modes.
The guild has purchased 400 Solarbots Mk.I combat units for the YGG community to explore the land of Eld where the Solarbots Metaverse is set.
Nitro League
Nitro League is a mobile-first, decentralized racing game set in the Metaverse where players can earn tokens by racing competitively or exploring other in-game features casually. Its free-to-play mode can be used to practice and get recognized as a racer. Solo events are a play-to-earn mode for individual racers, while team events are also for play-to-earn but with greater rewards.
NITRO is the primary utility token for the game. Staking NITRO allows players to unlock reward multipliers and gain access to exclusive races. As racers progress in the game, more features will be available. This includes designing tracks, starting a clan and recruiting others to join a clan.
YGG acquired NITRO governance tokens and will be acquiring assets in Nitro League.
Metalcore
Metalcore is a mechanized combat NFT-based game set on a chaotic alien planet where players fight for their faction and engage in PVP mega-battles, cooperative PVE fights, and faction-based, open-world clashes using war machines, vehicles and weapons.
The MMO combines the engagement of high-quality traditional gaming and blockchain technology, which lets players buy, sell, rent and trade their assets beyond the game ecosystem. Players can earn the in-game token, FAB, by playing various game modes to customize vehicles, including aircrafts, gunships, fighter jets and bombers.
The guild acquired MetalCore governance tokens. It also purchased NFTs such as pilots, tanks, aircrafts and mechs, as well as exclusive YGG-branded skins for baronies. The partnership also allows YGG to access exclusive land sales, genesis mints and private alpha testings for the YGG community to use.
Civitas
Civitas is a community-driven game in the 4X (Explore, Expand, Exploit and Exterminate) strategy genre, in which players work individually and collaboratively to level up their city by battling or uniting with other cities.
CITI tokens are obtained by completing quests and participating in activities such as subDAO contributions and AR mini-games. They are also randomly found when collecting resources. The CITI token is used for governance, staking, and in-game purchases. NFT buildings have different functions and stats, which can be decorative or functional. A player can also burn the building, along with other resources, to upgrade to new ones.
YGG acquired CITI governance tokens and will purchase assets as the game develops. The acquired tokens will help the guild create its own city in the game, once it launches.
Castle Crush
Developed by leading mobile game developer and publisher Wildlife Studios, Castle Crush is a free-to-play unique strategy game with over 75 million downloads. Players who choose to engage with the Avalanche blockchain layer of the game will coexist with the current player community.
To be able to earn token rewards, players will need a deck of NFT cards. Players earn Ascension Crystals or ACS from daily in-game rewards, seasonal rewards, other in-game activities like tournaments, and by selling NFTs. Founder Cards will generate significantly more ACS tokens than other cards.
YGG has acquired 500 NFT Founder Cards and 1,500 NFT Ascended Cards for the community to play with. This partnership will enable YGG members to dive into the world of a tower defense style, card collectible game, and experience it in a whole new way with the integration of NFTs.
Crypto Unicorns
Crypto Unicorns is a Unicorn pet-collecting and farming game built on the Polygon Network. Its gameplay centers around Unicorn and Land NFTs, which players utilize in a fun farming simulation, and other activities including Unicorn Jousting, Racing, and Team Battling.
The game implements a dual token structure and has a governance token, RBW (Rainbow Token), and a breeding token, UNIM (Unicorn Milk). Holders of the RBW token can utilize these tokens for Unicorn Evolution and Breeding, Staking to vote on key governance decisions and Treasury management, ultimately decentralizing the game economy.
YGG purchased 400 Unicorn Eggs during the genesis egg sale last year, where each egg had been hatched, revealing different unique traits. Additionally, the guild acquired 216 Crypto Unicorn land NFTs (Unicorn Farms) ranging in rarity from common to mythic.
MOBLAND
MOBLAND is the first-ever Mafia Metaverse, created to be an action-adventure role-playing game with a stylized take on the world of a modern crime syndicate.
Players see themselves joining a syndicate, running businesses, taxing their underlings and paying tribute to their bosses through blockchain-backed resources. By acquiring, managing, trading and expanding members of their syndicate, they take control of turfs and businesses while looting and raiding other syndicates to grow their empire.
The guild participated in an early strategic round to acquire SYNR governance tokens. Besides creating and introducing members to the syndicate inside of the MOBLAND Discord server, YGG will also utilize the GameFi 2.0 product in MOBLAND.
Tatsumeeko
Tatsumeeko is the first MMORPG to become playable on Discord. It combines the best elements of idle games, Japanese role-playing games and creative building games with social elements and user-generated content to create a platform-agnostic, community-driven modern-fantasy MMORPG-lite for Discord, iOS, mobile and web.
Combat will be fully automated and can only be controlled by the composition of the player’s party, the characters’ attributes and their equipped skills. Players can execute different combos against different enemies through strategic planning.
The utility token, IGS, can be obtained by completing daily quests and through battlepasses. Players are required to complete second-tier missions for them to afford luxuries like cosmetics, skins and strong gear. Such missions will require players to spend their tokens on upgrading their equipment as the game becomes more difficult as they progress.
YGG participated in the seed round of Tatsumeeko’s governance token, MKLN.
Walken
Walken is a free-to-play and move-to-earn game on Solana. Gamifying simple daily activities like walking and running, Walken promotes a healthy lifestyle and rewards its players for being physically active while allowing them to walk-to-play and play-to-earn with zero investment and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for Web2 users moving into Web3.
Players get a crypto wallet and an adorable in-game NFT character called CAThlete for free upon sign-up. By walking in real life, players earn gems, which they can use to upgrade their CAThletes and compete to win WLKN, the game’s reward and governance token. WLKN is used for trading on the in-game NFT marketplace and is required to upgrade a CAThlete’s level and stats or buy additional NFT accessories on the in-game marketplace to get extra stats points and win more competitions.
YGG has acquired WLKN tokens and 1,700 Genesis CAThletes for the community to play and earn token rewards in the game.
