YINC’s competition can be divided into three categories: directory service, niche apps and new decentralized solutions. The principal leaders in today’s services industry are the directory services — companies like Google, Yelp, Yellow Pages and Angie’s List.

Smaller players like Thumbtack, Home Advisor, TaskRabbit and UpWork offer a more complicated or niche solution to users as they tend to offer services that fall under specific categories. They haven’t made a major foothold in the market, as users today prefer to have a single platform for all their needs rather than having to use a different platform every time they need a specific service.

YINC differs from these centralized solutions in large part by its use of blockchain technology. Among the most prominent issues this resolves involves ratings and reviews. It’s impossible to know today if the reviews you see online were created by a person who actually hired the vendors or if it was faked. It could just as easily have been the vendor himself, his friends or a paid company who made the review or even a competitor who made a negative review.

On top of that, users can’t know if reviews have been tampered with, since companies often pay to remove negative reviews and leave mostly positive ones. YINC solves these issues partly through its use of blockchain technology, but as we’ll see, that’s not all that’s required.

The third kind of competition for YINC are relatively new decentralized platforms like Bob’s Repair and Swarm City. These companies also function on blockchain and they have taken the step to make reviews unalterable so they can’t be tampered with after having been posted. But vendors can still hire themselves, pay for their own services and leave fake reviews for fake jobs. In this case, you end up with unalterable fake reviews — not the most desirable situation.

So, YINC’s decentralized competitors have only solved half the problem of creating trustworthy reviews. YINC takes the final step with a unique and proprietary bidding process, ensuring that consumers have no control of which vendors are invited to bid. That means no vendor can hire and rate himself.

YINC doesn’t occupy one niche. Instead, it is across-the-board solution that solves all the issues facing consumers as they search for vendors online.
