Matt Schad, Manager, Product Design and Development at the San Antonio Spurs, came to us with an exciting idea to celebrate Tim Duncan’s career. We loved Matt’s idea, and worked closely with him to design and build a first-of-its-kind virtual experience — to give fans the ability to tour Tim Duncan’s Trophy Room right from the San Antonio Spurs mobile app.
On May 10, 2021, the Spurs unveiled the Tim Duncan Augmented Reality Experience, presented by H-E-B. Using the Spurs official mobile app, a fan can enter an AR Portal right from their driveway, living room, home office, or deck. From literally anywhere. With every step the fan physically takes, the AR Portal responds by allowing the fan to wander through the Tim Duncan Hall of Fame, to explore the awards and trophies that Duncan has earned throughout his career. This AR trophy room also allows fans to interact with the exhibits to view videos that recap Tim Duncan’s championship seasons.
Proud of this one…The new Tim Duncan Hall of Fame Trophy Room AR Portal Experience is now live ⚡️ in the Spurs App. We wanted to create an immersive and interactive experience for Tim Duncan’s upcoming Hall of Fame Enshrinement, and thanks to his impressive career, we had no trouble filling out the room with his belongings. The Trophy Room AR portal can be accessed in the Spurs App, and as you walk in and browse around the room you can relive memorable moments by watching videos through hotspots celebrating his various achievements.
