Since the beginning, we’ve always been huge fans of fans, and of letting fans make their team app their own.
Enter our “Top 5 Menu” feature, where fans can personalize their club app and see their own preferences reflected in the app.
The idea is simple, but effective.
- Clubs provide choices. Clubs offer a range of options, say, 12 different items within this fan-driven menu. Common options have included: tickets, roster, stadium, audio, podcasts, standings, schedule, etc.
- Fans make choices. Fans get to choose 5 out of those 12 items and create a fan-driven menu, with the fans’ selections reflected immediately in the app within this “Top 5 Menu.”
We rolled out this “Top 5 Menu” feature over a year ago. This feature can be seen in many of our NFL club apps, our NBA team apps, our NHL team apps, and our MLS team apps. It’s becoming increasingly popular with both our sports teams, as well as the fans who use these team apps.
We have always been advocates of fans being able to influence their team app, and to be able to have a say in how they navigate the app. The “Top 5 Menu” is one of our steps towards that type of fan-driven personalization.
