Maknoon Hosts Mothers & Women of All Ages to Celebrate Mother’s Day
Drawing narratives through our roots, mother land & culture with mother’s day we find an inseparable connection. Maknoon hosted a mother’s day event to celebrate these elements within this day through a small set of curated activities. The event’s aim was to gift mothers & mother figures this luxurious bottle that carries not just the best extra virgin olive oil from Lebanon, Palestine & Syria, but also the story, the culture, and the passion of those who have cultivated the history of olive oil for the past millennia. The perfect gift for the woman who was a big part of our growth into the person we are today.
A word meaning ‘cherished’ or ‘well-preserved’, Maknoon is a luxury homegrown brand dedicated to honoring the deep roots of Levantine culture through the use of olives and olive oil as a source of culinary joy and nostalgia. It is a celebration of many years of heritage and experience, honed over the centuries in order to produce a pure artisan oil, lovingly made by farmers known to and approved of by them. Maknoon olives are truly pampered, tended and watched over carefully throughout their entire growing cycle until they can be picked, hand — pressed, bottled and made ready for you.
Throughout the event, & as part of Maknoon up-cycling initiatives, guests were presented with bottles that had scratch marks on them & had the artist Jasmin (@jasminmampilli) draw illustrations on the marks to create something beautiful from a physical defect on the bottles and to resemble the journey that mothers go though and how beautiful they are & the way their children or family perceive them. Guests were then able to compile a bouquet of flowers for their mothers & then enjoy some tapas by OnelifeDxB created using Maknoon’s oils.
