What if I told you there was something that would have the average worker willing to accept 8% less pay for the same number of days worked? It might be hard to conceptualize at first, I know it certainly was for me. If it isn’t extra vacation time, longer periods of paid leave, or shorter work days, it’s hard to think of a benefit that would have people willing to take a pay cut.

So what is it?

Well, according to a 2017 study, it’s the ability to work remotely. Working from home has become more commonplace than ever, and some people are even opting for work from anywhere options.

Remote work is something that can work for a wide variety of lifestyles, with over 4 million people in the United States working from home at least half of the time. Remote work has been so increasingly popular that there are projections that by 2028, 73% of all departments will have remote workers.

It is clear the people love remote work, and this includes both employees and employers. The ability to work remotely may be able to benefit you and your current lifestyle in unexpected ways.

With more and more employers offering remote work options, there is no better time than now to test it out.
