Yoga in ACT Fitness Centers — UPDATE

Yoga Australia is pleased to advise that the situation in the ACT related to the suspension of yoga classes in specific gyms has been resolved due to careful negotiations by Yoga Australia with the ACT Government.

The ACT Government Office of Regulatory Services has advised Yoga Australia that the ACT Fair Trading (Fitness Industry) Code of Practice now identifies Yoga Australia as an approved registration body.

This action enables yoga teachers who hold a current registration with Yoga Australia to teach in gyms in the ACT. By providing evidence of your Yoga Australia registration, yoga teachers meet the requirements for qualifications needed to teach in a gym environment and are not required to be registered with Fitness Australia.
