But what exactly are digital computers, and how do they work?

A Chronological Journey from Conception to Modernity

The story of digital computers begins in the early 19th century with the development of Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine. This groundbreaking machine, though never fully realized, laid the foundation for modern computing by introducing the concept of a programmable machine.

In the mid-20th century, the work of Alan Turing and John von Neumann laid the theoretical groundwork for digital computers. Turing’s Turing machine, a hypothetical model of computation, provided a theoretical basis for the operation of digital computers.
