From Homo Sapiens to Homo Animalis (1 Corinthians 2:14–16)

These abilities, both spiritual and intellectual, make the man a separate being, who is not part of the animal creation, but rather, he has been established by the Creator, as the administrator of it. According to Genesis 1:26–28, repeated in what the apostle Paul wrote in Hebrews 2:5–9, God originally created man to set him over the work of his hands. These different elements of biblical information demonstrate that, according to God, man, although made of flesh, he has the status of a spiritual creature with the ability of perceiving and understanding the invisible realities (Romans 1:20; Hebrews 3 :4; 11:1–3).
In general biblical symbolism, the human face represents the main quality of God: love (symbolizing the expression of God’s sovereignty through love) (Genesis 1:26–28; Ezekiel 1:5; Revelation 4:7; 1 John 4:8,16). This is what makes that unlike the other faces such as the lion (symbolizing the sovereignty of God by kingship), the bull (symbolizing the sovereignty of God by power (war if necessary)) and the eagle (symbolizing the sovereignty of God through wisdom and insight), man is a being apart. He has a spirituality, and can have a close relationship with God, based on love and trust (faith). This faith is even required by God: “Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please him well, for he that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him” (Hebrews 11:6).
As the apostle Paul wrote, under inspiration, the man devoid of this spirituality, becomes an animal-man, while the one who has a spiritual relationship with God, is a spiritual man, devoid of all animality: “But a physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually. However, the spiritual man examines indeed all things, but he himself is not examined by any man. For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ” (1Corinthians 2 :14–16 “physical man” (Greek: psukhikos; Latin: animalis) = animal man without spirituality the opposite of “spiritual man”). The human face represents what God represents by his sovereignty or his way of governing all of his creation: love: “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
