Let us look at some characteristics of the mature man…

He has insight, discernment, he sees what is behind appearances, he has a great capacity for anticipation. He is not easily swayed by the opinions of others. He has a practiced critical (analytical) sense, which does not prevent him from perceiving the insight of others and humbly accepting their point of view. This “mature man” is a “spiritual man”: “However, the spiritual man examines indeed all things, but he himself is not examined by any man” (1 Corinthians 2:15). The depth of his personality and his inner richness, shaped over the years, do not allow him to be quickly identified, or easily understood. He is inherently humble and modest, aware of his own limitations as a mere human being. Biblical spirituality, made up of prayers, meditations and regular readings of the Bible, help him in this way of life (Micah 6:8).
In terms of biblical spirituality, he does not constantly need laws written in the form of prohibitions or injunctions, because they are written in his heart and guide his conscience. He knows the substance, the underlying reasons, which allows him to discern what to do in intermediate, ambiguous, even unexpected situations. Moreover, in one of the prophecies concerning the New Covenant, this is what Jehovah God had recorded in the Bible: “For this is the covenant that I shall conclude with the house of Israel after those days,” is the utterance of Jehovah. “I will put my law within them, and in their heart I shall write it. And I will become their God, and they themselves will become my people” (Jeremiah 31:33). From now on, the Christian is no longer under the authority of a Code of several hundred laws because Christ is the end of the Law; the Christian is now under the Royal Law of Christ (Romans 10:4; James 2:8). What does this mean concretely?
