Design Roundup, Aug 15 2016

Hello readers! Which at this point is probably just members of Yonder Dynamics, but what can you do. We had our Preliminary Design Review (PDE) last Friday, and I have to say it was fantastic. First, a brief explanation: the PDE is a project management technique we’ve lifted from NASA, in which the earliest stages of the design are reviewed, critiqued, and thought over by the group as a whole as well as the design committee, which for us is our officer board.

First up were Euan and Kyle with their wonderful 33CP Charizard, formerly known as the Jitterbug. After a sober introduction, we were presented with the following video:

I hope this makes you as happy as it makes me. All music credits to Tiny Tim.

Our Charizard had a few wiring and programming issues which are now being fixed. Expect to see it up and running properly in the upcoming weeks.

We had nifty leg designs from Huy and Raul (pictured here):

eventually those pistons may be replaced by artificial muscles. stay tuned kids.

In the upcoming weeks, we will be reorganizing ourselves a bit for our next push: a field test at the Gliderport by September 9. Get hyped!
