Mondelēz Japan had launched a product landing page of ‘Crolets’ the chewing gum brand of them in 2016.
This web page had a unique feature, you can create your own lyrics for ‘The Crolets Cheering Song” composed by Tetsuya Komuro, a popular music producer in Japan by using NetVOCALOID technology. So technically, you can collaborate with a maestro of J-POP as a lyricist. Let me introduce how it works.
By filling this form on the web page, the program will generate a video automatically with your own lyrics on Komuro’s song.
Also, by using NetVOCALOID, a PaaS service provided by Yamaha Corporation which generates vocals by VOCALOID technology via Web APIs, you can generate vocals for the song just filling the few lines on the web.
After generating the vocal, the server side program which using SoX library mix the vocal data and the song data down into a single wave file, and mashes up with the video the program already generated. You can also upload the generated video to YouTube.
In order to use NetVOCALOID, It still needs to create “.vsqx” files, the VOCALOID Editor file format(XML), by musicians in order to generate vocals in a musical manner.
I joined the web developing team of KAYAC Inc. and provided them musical advice for when they calibrating SoX parameters and made .vsqx files from the original score written by Tetsuya Komuro.
