University Majors as Astrology Signs
Like a normal person, I too, wake up, read my daily horoscope, and gasp at its accuracy. Part of me wonders if the writers of said horoscopes have been spying on me.
We all love when astrology signs predict everything we already knew about ourselves. There’s something weirdly satisfying about it! I figured, if those are all too accurate, maybe horoscopes are the perfect way to define my major choice, too? So, here are all the astrology signs and their respective perfect major choice.
Disclaimer: As much as I wanted to assign multiple majors to each astrology sign, I just couldn’t! (And some of these were seriously difficult. I’m looking at you, fire signs). Also, don’t @ me, as this is simply just one person’s opinion.
AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18)
Being free-spirited, eccentric and innovative, Aquarius fits well into Kinesiology. They are big thinkers and know the importance of both independent and collaborative thinking but love teamwork and appreciate being able to let themselves shine. They also have a strong sense of equality, making them great for the world of Kin.
PISCES (February 19 -March 20)
Gentle, deeply in tune with their emotions and emoting, Pisces would be most like Comparative Literature (a.k.a. Superior English, in my humble opinion). Their ability to feel their emotions and be creative helps them the most. And okay, everyone knows that Pisces cry, but their ability to take those emotions and critically engage, analyze and express them? Non-water signs can’t relate.
ARIES (March 21-April 19)
Like other fire signs, Aries are also bold leaders who are determined and wise. Their innate leadership qualities and innovative insights make them the perfect Business major. They are assertive, passionate fighters and strive for excellent. Some of that Aries flair and *slight* temper is even transformed into those poised and extra suits they always sport around the Tory/Business Atrium.
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
Taurus, known for their stubbornness, tenacity and patience could fit into a variety of major categories. But I think the one that most describes the Taurus is Law. The resilience and diplomatic nature of a Taurus fits directly into the requirements of a Law degree. And I know, I know, you’re all thinking I’m basing this just on the stubborn thing. But seriously, have you ever won an argument with a Taurus? It’s fate.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
Geminis are outgoing, impulsive and a little bit unpredictable, making them most like Drama majors. Being adaptable and open minded allows them to thrive in the fine art, and their expressive and quick-witted abilities make Drama the perfect realm to let loose a few Geminis and know they will succeed.
CANCER (June 21 -July 22)
In touch with their emotions, imaginative, and a little bit moody, Cancers are like Psychology. Regardless of whether that’s Arts or Science Psych, Cancers are intrigued by the human psyche, probably because of their appreciation for sentimentality and ability to empathize. They are also able to intuitively understand those around them, and maybe do a bit too much psychoanalysis on themselves.
LEO (July 23 — August 22)
Leos are natural born leaders, strong-willed, loud, and love attention, and while I might be a little teeny tiny bit biased for this one, I feel like I have the proof to concretely say Leos as a major are most definitely Political Science. As one of the fire signs and never backing down from a fight, Leos know how power moves and how to operate it. Their desire to be in the spotlight and their opinionated nature makes PoliSci the perfect fit.
VIRGO (August 23-September 22)
Virgos are a little bit judgmental, but only so that they can determine the best way to help and put their hard working capabilities to the test. This makes them perfect Human Ecology majors. Their ability to think (and overthink) lends itself to the interdisciplinary thinking required and see the biggest picture.
LIBRA (September 23-October 22)
Being natural listeners, Libras are fit to be Education majors. They are an excellent ear, a requirement of the Ed profession, but compliment that with their ability to adapt, be diplomatic and empathetic. They’re also just idealistic enough to inspire the folks they wish to teach, have a passion for justice and know how to balance just about everything.
SCORPIO (October 23-November 21)
Scorpios are independent, hardworking trail-blazers who desire both genuine people and genuine facts around them. Their love for debates and authenticity makes them a match for Philosophy where they aren’t afraid to express their opinions and get down to both the emotional, subjective, and objective truths.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 -December 21)
Sagittariuses (Sagittariai?) are adaptable, love change, and appreciate being able to mold and change as the world around them requires. Physics is the most like them, and with Sagittarius’ storytelling abilities, and open mindedness, they’re able to anticipate and understand the physical world as it moves and changes, and they’re able to make it make sense to the rest of us.
CAPRICORN (December 22 -January 19)
Capricorns are hardworking, reliable and appreciate being in control. These characteristics, along with their focused and organized nature are perfect in Engineering Their organized and efficient capabilities are essential in Engineering. And okay, yeah, maybe to the everyday air sign wishes you had more electives, but with Capricorn’s desire for strict boundaries? Build the schedule for me, registrar!
That’s it folks! Thanks for reading and be sure to share this if any of your favourite signs popped up. Also, know that these are just sun signs! Your moon, rising, Venus, Mercury and Mars all come into play too.
