Introduction — Final Thoughts

With everything set in place and steadily moving on, I’d thought about giving some final thoughts; the intentions, potential end goal and my own personal desires. It might settle any curiosity or questions about YouCanterbury.

First up, intentions:

I want all my social media content to be about promoting local businesses and others in Canterbury. I have zero intention of promoting myself. I’ve already done that in the past.

That’s why I created the name “YouCanterbury” as a means to blog and tweet under. It is not a business. Will never ask for a single penny from this.

End goal:

An influence in the city and providing positive feedback to a wider campaign or organisation is a possibility, but I don’t envision “YouCanterbury” becoming its own entity. But, if my personal stories and experiences throughout the city help others — then my work is done. It is all I really want.

Own personal desires:

Being asked my thoughts on how to improve the city and ideas to do so would be welcomed. However, YouCanterbury is not a platform for me to freelance myself. I really have no desire for it. I’m doing this because I love my home city.

That’s some insight. First rule of social media content management is be honest with your audience and I have. My first review will be up sometime next week (when I get the free time) and then we’ll go from there.

I’ll be aiming to do it once a month, depending on timing issues, and I might do some general blogging about Canterbury and my daily goings on each week; I haven’t decided yet. Anyways, speak to you all soon…
