Hello, book friends! With just a few more days left in the year, it’s time to look back and then plan ahead. This has been a whirlwind of a year for me, as I’ve picked up more freelance work. I’ve been juggling a lot, and my work/life balance hasn’t always been the best, which means my reading year feels like a bit of a blur. I think I set some reading goals for 2024, but I honestly don’t remember any of them, and getting through the year wound up being enough for me this time around.

Nevertheless, I know I’ve read some stellar books in 2024, and this opportunity to look back on them is always welcome. So far, I’ve read 67 books, and suspect I’ll finish a few more in the upcoming days off before the year ends. But, I feel pretty comfortable rounding up my best books at this point — worst comes to worst, I can always update if one of my last few reads winds up being too amazing not to include. For now, here are my favorites from the year.
