Hello, book friends! My first book review of 2025 is, of course, the last book I read in 2024 as I got super sick around New Year’s Eve and have thus been a potato for several days.

And speaking of potatoes… today’s review is for Amanda Elliot’s latke-filled Hanukkah romance, Love You a Latke. Many thanks to Berkley for the digital ARC via NetGalley. Let’s dig into my review!

Love You a Latke Synopsis

In Love You a Latke, Abby is a struggling cafe owner who suddenly finds herself tagged to plan a Hanukkah festival by virtue of being the only Jewish person in the Vermont town business owner’s association. Desperate for help, she turns to a dating app to try and find other Jewish people in the area… only to realize her annoying, too-happy customer Seth is the only one.

Soon, they agree to a deal — she’ll pretend to be his Nice Jewish Girlfriend and he’ll take her to New York to meet some ideal vendors for the festival.
