Happy Wednesday, book friends! This one snuck up on me, since my workplace was closed on Monday for the July 4th holiday and my work wee just started yesterday.

I mostly spent the long weekend resting and trying to get my energy back up after my weeklong pain flare, but I did get some baking and reading in, as well, which was refreshing.

For whatever reason, I’m still pretty low energy today, so let’s jump straight to the reading updates!

Recent Reads

I finished Book Lovers last week and, surprising no one, really enjoyed it. Even though Nora is pretty different from me, I still felt immediately drawn in to her story and her struggles.

The writing is exactly the crisp, funny style I’ve come to expect from Emily Henry, and I loved the bookish touch of leaning into the tropes from romances so self-referentially. Did I predict how it would end pretty early on? Yes. Did that make it any less enjoyable? No, it did not.
