Here’s to Radio’s Rebelution…
1- Tiesto
Does he need an introduction? We don’t think so! Tiesto has been around for many years now, and is now one of the most famous DJ/producer in the world. He hasn’t released a record for 5 years, but “A Town Called Paradise” will be out on June 16th! You can already listen to his new single “Wasted”, and watch the video on Youtube. He also has a weekly podcast called ClubLife(search iTunes), which we’d love to hear as part of the radio/stream.
2- Avicii
This Young Swedish Dj has already worked with the greatest artists: Madonna, Coldplay, David Guetta… Last year he released his first record of which you probably know most of the songs already. What we really like about him is the all the beautiful vocals you can hear on his tracks like Aloe Blacc in “Wake Me Up”.
We are sure you’ve all danced to one of his tracks. First it was for his 80's beats and now more for his electro/house vibe and his great collaboration with Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Florence Welch or even Ne-Yo. His new song “Summer” was released in March, and is the perfect song on the way to the party. Bring on the feel of Summer!
4- Hardwell
If you’re an EDM fan, you probably have seen his sets on Youtube in front of huge crowds, or even better, you’ve seen him in person! We listen to his weekly podcasts and we love them. They’re just what you need to get the actual party started.
5- Afrojack
Do you know what Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Sting have in common? They all will be featured on Afrojack first record which comes out on May 19th. It’s not because it’s his first album that he is new in the music industry. Au contraire, he’s been in the industry for some time now, and has produced a lot of really famous artists (Beyoncé, Ne-Yo…), as well as his own tracks. Have you heard “No Beef” with Steve Aoki and Miss Palmer?
6- Steve Aoki
He’s probably the most crazy of all! If you have even been to his show, you can’t help but be impressed by his endless energy. He’s been in the music industry for a while now, and he even created his own music label called Dim Mak Records. Amazing collaborations. His new album Neon Future will be out this summer, so be sure to listen to him.
7- Disclosure
They’re not typical DJ’s, but we love them. First, they’re brothers, and secondly, they play with real instruments, and thirdly, they were born in the 90's. Their record came out last summer, and they already played Coachella twice. Some artists don’t get to play that stage even after many years in the industry. Rock on.
8- Deadmau5
Do you know that guy that always plays his shows with a huge mouse head on? Well that guy is Deadmau5! He’s releasing a new record this year (we don’t know when and we don’t know the name) but we think it’s a good excuse to listen to his previous tracks again.
9- Diplo
You may know him for his electronic music but also for the dancehall, he is the other half of Major Lazer. He’s mainly known for his producing talents; Beyoncé, Usher, M.I.A. and many others. He also owns his record label, Mad Decent, and has a monthly podcast that would be a sweet mix. We want more!
10- Madeon
Another French DJ? Yes, and he’s amazing. He even opened for Lady Gaga’s tour! We found out about him a few years ago when he posted a very impressive video of himself doing a live mashup (Pop Culture) with samples of really famous electro/dance tracks. You can definitely hear the French Touch in his music.
