It Takes Two

Best Co-op game of 2021 and possibly ever!

It Takes Two is an action packed platformer developed by Hazelight studios and published by EA.

You may have played Hazelight’s former co-op game, A Way Out. Just like in it, It Takes Two offers a unique Co-Op experience. Both games are split screen couch co-op or online. What makes them special tho is only one person has to own the game. The other can play with a friend who owns the game by downloading the free friends pass.

It Takes Two features many unique game mechanics from a variety of many game genres. There’s also a lot of unique mini games that you can go back and play as much as you want even after the game is finished.

Now for the plot…Cody and May are planning on getting a divorce. After telling their daughter, Rose, she takes her handmade dolls that look like her parents and try to fix their marriage through playing make believe. Something magical happens and they wake in the bodies of these dolls!

Then enters Dr. Hakim, aka The Book of Love. This book is a relationship therapist who tries to help Cody and May by throwing them in different scenarios, scenes from their past, and challenging them to compromise and work together.

After many mistakes, some success, and a long journey, you finally make it to the end of this fun and wonderful story to see if they make it back to their real bodies and stay together.

This game is fun and I highly recommend it. Find someone you love and give it a try! I really don’t think you’ll regret it. It’s definitely the best co-op game of the year and possibly ever. I believe other game developers should take a good look at this one and use it as a template to give us exciting new games. We need more co-op games that are fun and that’s exactly what Hazelight gave us.
