Blocking on Medium
The blocking tools on Medium enable you to manage the types of conversations with which you participate.
When you block a specific user, their stories will be globally removed from your personal Medium experience. Any responses they leave on your stories will not be linked from your story’s public URL (though they will remain accessible via that user’s profile page), and you will not be sent any notifications of responses or @mentions from that account.
To block a user, go to their profile page (as in https:[email protected]) click the down arrow next to the follow button and then click “Block this user”.

Blocked accounts will be marked in red, as in the image below and you can unblock them at any time again from the profile page:

You can also manage your blocked accounts at https://medium.com/me/settings under “Manage blocked users”:

It’s important to note that when a blocked user visits your profile they’ll see a message letting them know that they’ve been blocked.

Hiding Responses
If you’d prefer to completely turn off responses for a particular story, you can do that too by following the instructions found in our Help Center:
You just want to write. We get that. And our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment to express yourself…help.medium.com
Reporting Abuse & Harassment
In addition to blocking a user or hiding responses on a story, you also have the option to report a story if you find it to be abusive, harassing, or otherwise a violation of our community guidelines. Should you have a conflict with another user which cannot be resolved simply by blocking their account or reporting their story, please contact us right away at [email protected].
