The Diffusion of Disillusion

Ape, Ali Baba, Banana, Cholo, Cracker, Crow, Niger, Gringo, Yankee, Beaner, Mexican, etc., are some of the ethnic slurs that we human have invented to declare a racial insult to different people based on their nationality, skin color, gender, political affiliation, and religion preference. If I say Muslim, the first image that will come to you mind will be that of a person with bomb jacket trying to blow up himself and everyone around that him. If Beaner is introduce, you might think of undocumented immigrants trying to cross the southern US border. If I say Ape, Crow, Niger, African, slave, your illusion is just a person that encompass such description as Black.

I was born in a place where race was put in a bubble. Skin different was not a big issue, but it was present in every aspect. Although it was a patriarchal society, gender problem was not as big as the ones we see in The United States. I was able to live in two different world; having experience the difference between them I have been racial discriminated multiple times in The United States, Mexico, and United Arab Emirates. People look at my skin color and base on their body language I am able to determine that I am being racial discriminated. In my work place, I have found people that had told me “go back to Mexico” like if Mexico was my birth place. It is funny to see the ignorance of people performing such racial acts. Racism is a big problem if we let it be. Base on this statement, let take a look on who has been affected by this problem. This is by far the most diverse country in the whole world, and the most racist. We have white cops patrolling black neighborhood. Some of those community are develop to increase the problem base on economy. The projects neighborhood are design to accommodate the minority in such places. This problem increase because most of the crimes happens in those places.

If the design of complex project neighborhood is a problem, we have to take into consideration the issues that are develop there. First, we have the racial issue as mentioned early were we see fight between territories. Taking into consideration Southcentral Los Angeles known as Watts, we see a hidden world where if you get off guard you end up paying with your life. The battle between Black and Hispanic in this place has been ongoing for long time, and it will keep going as long as there are different races there. Second, drugs are always present where you have a territorial fight. With the high consumption and demand of drugs, people living in this type of community are face with domestic violence. Places like Compton where the hip hop was born introduce violence thru it music. As and end result, we see a pattern that develop into domestic violence. This is not the only pattern that end in domestic violence; families that had being introduce to violence, have the tendency to repeat a cycle of violence.

We have discussed racism, drugs, violence, and families. Now it is time to correlate them together. For example, let’s take “violence and families” to a different view. By introducing gender and roles, we have in our mind a stereotype of whom does what. When you hear women in family the first thing you think is an abuse housewife. Well just to let you know that not all women are being abuse; instead, we see that most women are the abuser. As a customer service provider, I have experience that most of the abuse are coming from women. This is the sole reason that most women do not get along among each other and they end up saying “look at that bitch how she dress she looks like a who’”. They are always critiquing each other to the point where they explode in violence. Now let take drugs and violence to a whole new level. It is a proven fact that drugs create violence. There are many different level of how this is happening, yet many of us try to ignore the main problem. I will discuss the top and bottom level of violence in drugs. The narco-cartels are infested with guns for territorial fight. Their violence is too high that countries tremble by the many people dead on the streets. On the consumer side, we see that family abuse in on demand. The abuse does not has to be from a male to a female and vice versa, but this abuse end being toward the children. To wrap things up, racism and violence in our community is a major problem. Although it is illegal to discriminate base on racial issues, we see how white cops gets away with murder toward a color being. We see how Latinos get bit up by police brutality in Rancho Cucamonga where is one of the most racist place on the planet.

We live in a society were diversity is the driven factor that makes this country great. We need to put racism a thing of the past to reduce violence in our communities. Although present, we must not discriminate people base on their appearance and preferences. Let the diffusion of our race be steam engine to stop violence in our society. Let Disillusion in racist act be a key element in learning what is wrong or right.
