Nurture

WORK

--

Businesses need to be tended — to be lovingly given the nutrients they need to grow and expand themselves. At times we don’t know exactly how to do this, though; it takes some reading, instruction, and even a bit of trial and error to get them to their full bloom.

How have you taken care of your business lately?

  • Have you set up a schedule that will allow you to connect with one new person each day?
  • Have you found a way to streamline or delegate key tasks so your processes flow better?
  • Have you looked at the numbers to determine your growth rate as well as whether or not you are flourishing sustainably?

While many of us businesspeople are quite happy to keep growth contained to what we can handle on our own — sort of like tending a single orchid rather than a tulip farm — we do still need to continue making new connections and putting new projects in the pipeline. And the only way this happens is through loving, nurturing attention.

LIFE

Each of us on this earth is creative in our own unique way. Some of us use paint and canvases, some of us use words, some of us use plants in a garden, and still others use their appealing personalities to connect and create.

No matter where your creative strengths lie, if you don’t keep filling your bucket with the raw materials of passion, imagination, emotion and drive, you won’t be able to complete the project at hand.

Consider taking a mini-vacation or day trip to discover new views and vistas. Attend a workshop to connect with like-minded people. Or watch a documentary that opens your mind to new ideas, lifestyles and techniques.

Do you get inspired from revisiting the things you love or are you someone who needs to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone to feel innovative?

Cultivating and growing your personal and professional talents requires time in the garden, but the results are amazing, colorful life experiences.

INSPIRATION

“My hope is that we continue to nurture the places that we love,
but that we also look outside our immediate worlds.”

― Annie Leibovitz

TAKE ACTION

Pay attention to what sparks new ideas for you. Do the things you hear, see, taste, touch or smell inspire you the most? Knowing what sense connects with you the most may be your best starting point to plant your intentions.
