September Walk
a poem

Chipmunks chatter
on their branch above,
teenagers gossiping
of homework and love.
Silver bullet slash
of a passing car,
dry leaves skittering,
scattering far.
Walking shoes carry me
into the street,
September crunches
beneath my feet.
