The term ‘positivity’ may sound a bit cliché. However, it is the one irreplaceable drive for life. Especially, during these times where life has turned upside down for many. The unprecedented pandemic has taught a lot of lessons to people around the world. One major teaching among those is the ‘need to cherish mental health’, which can also be reflected as ‘necessity of positivity’ in times like this.

“Positive minds attract positive circumstances with proper efforts”

What is positivity?

Being positive or optimistic is not a big deal but a choice. It is just an option of how you react to any stimulant. Positivity is an antidote which can aid in surviving. It is also about focusing on the positive attributes of a situation or person. In other words, it’s about dealing anything with confidence.

“Being positive is always a choice”

How to be optimistic?

The way to be positive hides in the definition itself. Whenever facing adversities, focus on the ways to dissolve the crisis or cope up mechanisms instead of being drowned with the crisis itself. In an evolutionary perspective, being positive is just a survival mechanism. No one is born optimistic; it can be cultivated as a habit with consistent practice. In order to practice positive reactions, maintaining mind-pace is essential. Whatever situation it may be, giving one-self a few minutes pause before reacting can help a lot. During the pause, one can analyze the stimulus and choose how to react. Over time, it will eventually become a habit to do so.

“Don’t get upset with people or situations, both are powerless without your reaction”

Being positive is not only for facing catastrophes rather it is the best way to live life. Once it is developed as a regular behavior, life itself will be seen in a beautiful and hopeful perception.

Are there any proofs?

Of course, yes. Research shows that the most optimistic people are the happiest ones. Which in turn pays to live a healthy and long life, provided all other basic needs are satisfied?

“Happiness is the key to a healthy & lively life”

Precaution

The main objective of being optimistic is to be the best survivor. Being optimistic in unnecessary things such as expecting an output which doesn’t even have input can be excluded. For example, hoping to become the CEO of a company when not even taking efforts to reach that goal is completely different from being positive.

“One will receive the consequences, only if the corresponding actions are taken”

So,

Why not give it a try?

Stick to optimism,

Hang in there….

Until it sticks to you!
