We’re excited to welcome the new team members of the YouthHack Philadelphia core team. These 5 members will be serving as associates in the YouthHack Ventures Accelerator program, and will have their own operational roles as members of the core team.

At the start of this semester, we had a goal of assembling a superstar team to help us reach our ambitious goals in the next two years of building Silicon Philly. Between launching a venture accelerator program and a startup studio, we have a lot of big plans for the next two years and we’re excited to be working with these superstars in taking our programs to the next level.

These 5 new team members bring various perspectives, experiences and skill sets to our team ranging from interning in a VC firm to working in a startup to consulting for small businesses. More importantly, they all showed tremendous passion and willingness to learn during our application process.

Here’s to the next two years building Silicon Philly with these guys!

Michael Zhou, SEAS‘20

Michael is a freshman studying computer science. He has previously worked on fund-raising with Shanghai Healing Home, a private non-profit orphanage in Shanghai. Michael loves reading and learning about entrepreneurship, and also talking to people with startup ideas. He has interned at a VC firm during the past summer, focusing on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality industry to learn about how investors analyze and evaluate startups. Michael believes that startups push the world forward. He has a startup dream to send human onto outer-space colonies.

Cameron Cabo, M&T‘20

Cameron is a freshman studying Computer Science, Management and Marketing in the M&T Program. He grew up for the first sixteen years of my life in suburban Boston but moved to LA right before 10th. Cameron loves drawing and digital design, and bringing that creative mindset to everything that he does. For Cameron, what’s so unique about startups is that they are the direct results of the work and dedication of its founders and team members, and so too that each has the potential to change the way we think and live. He learned this first hand in working with a variety of startups from an innovation-based school to a club soccer team to a bottled soup company.

Anika Ranginani, W‘19

Anika Ranginani is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania studying Statistics in Wharton. She is a consultant at the Wharton Small Business Development Center, and is excited about working with student startups to help them develop their ideas. She looks forward to diving into the Philly startup community and finding solutions to problems we face today. In her free time she loves to write, read and eat at different restaurants in Philly.

Cindy Chen, W’19

Cindy is a sophomore in the Wharton School of Business studying finance, operations, and statistics. She is very interested in the startup scene as well as the culture surrounding it and is excited to help extend the startup scene to Philadelphia through being a member of the core team for YouthHack. Outside of YouthHack, Cindy plays ultimate frisbee, takes photographs for the Daily Pennsylvanian, and tutors as part of the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project. Additionally, she is currently a research assistant at Penn helping with research in healthcare and finance with regards to behavioral economics.

Dhruv Dabriwal, SEAS ‘19

Dhruv is a sophomore majoring in Computer Science. Last summer he interned at “Videonetics” — a video analysis startup in India. His interests though span a horizon greater than just the field of Computer Science and Technology. He loves meeting new people, singing in the bathroom, and is an avid squash player. It’s his life goal to be able to do 100 consecutive pushups; currently he can only do 12 straight pushups and hopes to reach exponential growth soon.
