I thought people would dream about rainbows, unicorns, and cute cupcakes but sometimes people dream about walking a dark endless road towards a light that does not exist. I knew a girl some months ago who suffered from serious depression. Every day would be a sad ending in her life, for example, she would have accidentally spilled her coffee but would think this all is meant to happen to me even though it’s just an accident caused by her. She used to live a melancholy life, listening to sad songs, watching movies that only have a sad ending and when I asked her why she watches only sad ending plots she replied because I deserve only to watch those. It felt like she only chose sadness over happiness even when she had her chances.

Scientists say that depressed people use emotion regulation to determine their emotional state. In other words, sadness is the familiar emotion that depressed people feel so, they are feeling the need to experience sadness to identify what they are going through and to reaffirm who they are. This is also what the girl I met was going through.

Depression is connected to every emotion we feel including thoughts about who they are, what they are allowed to do, in fact, it also controls self-esteem and so depressed people believe that they deserve to feel bad, sad.

Anger is also a symptom of depression; depressed people always experience sudden episodes of anger. Depressed people suppress their feelings of anger and later display their anger through violence towards people who they trust

Depression is a deep feeling of sadness that sometimes lasts forever. Symptoms of depression may include as below:

⮚ Feeling of confusion, sadness or hopelessness.

⮚ Extreme weight loss or weight gain.

⮚ Anger issues.

⮚ Loss of energy.

⮚ Loss of interest in things you normally enjoy.

⮚ Unexplained body aches and pains.

⮚ Thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life.

⮚ Suicidal thoughts.

Visiting a doctor if you face the above symptoms at the earliest is the right choice if you think you’re experiencing depression or anger issues. There are treatments that can cure or help you with your anger and depression. Sometimes taking a walk outside for fresh air and a brisk walk to clear your mind might also help you cope with your depression. Do things that can divert your mind like listening to songs that can make you dance like crazy, doing something that can make your heartbeat rise like bungee jumping or jumping from a tall tree into an ocean, just kidding please don’t do that instead with proper guidance go for paragliding and stuffs like that.

Few tips to manage your depression:

● Find someone to talk to.

● Add exercise into your daily routine.

● Get enough sleep every night.

● Spend time doing things you enjoy.

● Motivate yourself with new skills

● Stay positive and in a good vibe

Everything is a choice you make, you get to decide if you want to be happy or sad, you get to decide if you want to improve or not, but being depressed is not a choice but whether you still want to be depressed or move on and be happy is your choice. So always stay positive and think everything will be fine cause it will be fine whether you want it or not.

So with that said hopefully everyone has a good day and keep sharing your positive vibe and have a super awesome day ahead, thank you, and see you guys in the next blog.
