Hey there! As a girl from a middle class, I would like to share the usual things that happen in our family which seem weird for others reading this blog.

Nested plastics

Even though the Indian government banned using low-quality plastics, it still is used by many shopkeepers. We usually store a bunch of small plastics bags, and those small bags will be inside the larger one. It is a common practice of the middle class.

We use plastic bags

To wrap vegetables and fruits in the fridge,

To carry a lunch box to school

To dispose of wastes

To make piping cones to decorate the cake

Wear it as one-time gloves, etc.

Plastic bottles are also used to store water, oil, fabric conditioner, etc.

Upside down

My family consists of 3. We won’t need a large number of stocks. The medium size is more than enough. When it comes to the type of package, it differs from bottle to tube. My face wash is in a tube. To increase the usage, I usually keep it upside down. Try this hack. It is long last your product.

Old cloth as cleaning towel.

To wash our vehicles, we won’t buy costly gloves which are water absorbable. Instead, we use old clothes which are too tight or too loose. On the other hand, one rupee shampoo sachet will be a substitute for costly vehicle cleaning liquid.

Cycle the best companion.

For the short distance ( 1–2km), I use cycle. It would barely cost five rupees to fill the air. Cycling is the best exercise too. We won’t use a car for short distances.

No costly dogs

It would cost 15 to 20k to buy a dog from a pet shop. Instead of doing this, we daily feed street dogs. I love the way it wiggles its tails. It gives happiness when we cook for those abandoned dogs.

I think everyone can adopt street dogs instead of buying some foreign breed that needs air conditioners.

Ten years old plates

We never buy new plates are utensils for cooking unless they have a hole in them. Glass utensils are meant only for guests. Many say that a new dosa pan will not be suitable for making crispy dosa. Maybe because of this too, our dosa pan is five years old. Apart from this, the sliver/ copper/ aluminium utensils are long-lasting.

No butter paper

To make cakes or bread, we buy butter paper from the shop. Instead, we make one using A4sheet and butter. Sometimes if tissue papers are out of stock, we use newspapers to clean the vessels. Sometimes we spread newspapers over the dining table to avoid messing it.

Middle class but not mad

We like to save money but not Conjus. We won’t buy cheap quality things at discounts. Most of the things at a discount price will not be worth enough to use. Two thousand rupees dress will long last at least for 3 years when comparing the dress worth 200. We always buy durable things.

I felt these were the common things that happen in our family.

The middle class is so funny, it’s the class I know best, and it’s the class where you find the most pretension, so that’s what makes the middle classes so funny
