Week Highlights

Legal Essentials for Startups
We were pleased to welcome back Funke Philip to run her notorious workshop on the legal essentials for startups. I call it notorious not because it is lacking in anyway, in fact quite the opposite — it is dense with hugely important lessons for founders.
However, I have to admit a conversation about founders agreements, equity splits and ownership of intellectual property can make for scary (and sometimes awkward) listening. Unfortunately, it is a reality that the startup game can be a dirty one! The teams left with an understanding of what they need to have in order to protect themselves for any shady dealing or unnecessary costs down the line, and wow they can get expensive 😪.
Pitch Decks

Putting together a great pitch deck is fundamental to startups for a couple of reasons. It is the easiest way to communicate your business idea, particularly to potential investors and partners and to really help you drill down on your checklist for validating your idea.
With the FoundersDoor Showcase Evening approaching founders have the perfect opportunity to put this knowledge to use. Speaking of which, sign up to attend below. We will be hosted by the lovely people at Microsoft Reactor and you should expect to be inspired by our founders but also meet awesome likeminded people including investors, founders, programme managers and friends of YSYS.
