at the moment and every day, i live in the collective vibe created by these artists. songs new and old and in no particular order. except of course the song that holds the top spot, a song so sublime and reminiscent of a simpler time.

Lauryn Hill — The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill — Nothing Even Matters ft. D’Angelo

i mean we all already know this album is a f’in godsend. but this song. this song blindsided me so instantaneously when i was driving to work, it was like fireworks were shooting off in my beat up 97 camry and i was like “oh yeah, love was soooo good back then!” the heat was just right for time travel and i thank whichever power had given me this kind and much needed remembrance.

Sampa the Great — The Return

i cannot stress enough how absolutely essential it is to listen to this album. every song is fantastic spell-work and Sampa the Great and the features involved are all magi of the highest order. the track, The Return was especially soul snatching. ill probably try to scrimp up the money to buy the vinyl because this album is a need. i needed it, and i need it still. my soft spots go to the tracks: Brand New and Made Us Better.

Phum Viphurit — Bangkok Balter Club — Softly Spoken

Phum Viphurit is such a cutie! but putting that aside this kid is crazy talented. all of his music videos are treasures truly, ESPECIALLY SOFTLY SPOKEN. Lover Boy is still such a solid song and i remember when Hello, Anxiety came out i was like “damn this kid knows what’s up.” i also highly recommend checking out his other album, Manchild, and y’all might as well check out his live session. in their entirety please.

Lianne La Havas — Bittersweet

it’s seldom that the vibe of someone’s voice is just so crazy palpable with its immediacy. like in a fleeting moment just *POP*. her voice resonates something ancient.

Natalia Lafourcade — Musas — Tú Me Acostumbraste ft. Omara Portuondo (En Manos de Los Macorinos)

i listen to this song every morning and the sun shines brighter because of it. also check out Mexicana Hermosa and Soledad y el Mar.

BØRNS — Blue Madonna — I Don’t Want U Back

i fuckin love this guy’s music.

Nao — Saturn — Saturn ft. Kwabs

i’ve been waiting for these Brandy like feels for awhile now.

Frank Ocean — In My Room

NOREPINEPHRINE LEVELS SKYROCKET FUEL. i need Frank Ocean at constant ready or else i’m afraid i’ll collapse into oblivion…or perhaps will gain a sudden urge to burn shit down. don’t try me pls.

Thelonious Monk — Thelonious Himself — All Alone

the secret to reading in the sunlight is for you to surround yourself with the vibe of this great wonder.

And as always, thank you so much for reading my feels! I would love to listen to your thoughts in the comments. Let’s all just try to vibe on another level shall we? as we try to keep our sanity during lockdown.
