3am and my body has slipped out of time space yet again
and the heartbeat thunders out here rumbling
clamor hammering at fragile temples
a body shaking out of syncopation
out of patience
violent as a sandstorm

has my body grown accustomed to this dimensional thrashing?
and has my heart always gripped god’s megaphone
drowning out the winds with its beat?

4am and i’ve slipped back in
and i finally hear a wise man’s wisdom, all smoke and bug-eyed
