What Is Litty Committee?

Litty Committee is a newly-founded club formed to connect, engage, and increase school spirit among YVHS students and campus. The Litty Committee club is dedicated to cheering on and supporting our athletic teams and events. They cheer on our Trojans and promote school pride. Litty Committee supports and cheers every team, from cross country and football to extracurricular activities such as band and color guard!

Why Should You Join?

Payton Mayhood, sophomore: “Students should join Litty Committee because it helps them make new friends and helps them be more involved in our school sports! Maybe even next year (or season), they might want to participate in this sport.”

Ish Patel, senior: “Litty Committee is a spirit club designed to have fun only — we have no other requirements but to have fun.”

Evelyn Estrada, freshman: “Students should join because it’s an exciting club, and the people there are so amazing!”

Evelyn Villalva, freshman: “It is an amazing club, and if you like to cheer and your friends don’t, then come join Litty Committee.”

How Has Litty Committee Affected School Events and Sports So Far?

Christian Nussbaum, senior: “The Litty Committee has provided a new type of environment, one that is exciting and energetic all the time!”

Yadira Mojica, freshman: “It’s gotten the crowd louder and gets the players to feel loved.”

Seth Ramirez, senior: “Everyone WANTS to go to events.”

When and Where Are Meetings?

Meetings are held in Mr. Johnson’s room (G5) every Tuesday from 2–3 pm. At the meetings, members go over times and places for games and events, practice new and old cheers, decide what colors or outfits they will be wearing (black and gold, custom tie-dye shirts, jerseys). The goal is for members to step out of their comfort zones, make new friends, be loud, and have fun!

“If you like being loud, this would be a great club for you to join!” — senior Christian Nussbaum

Who Can Join?

Anyone can join this club! There are no requirements to join, and there is a friendly vibe between all members. They want any YVHS student to join, especially underclassmen, to build spirit among all classes! This club is for anyone who wants to be loud, have fun, and cheer for their fellow Trojans!

Say it Loud! Say it Proud!

Litty Committee wants activities to be fun and loud. They want school spirit to spread around campus and at after school activities, such as football games. This allow students to be more active in school events and to make new friends. This is a group for positive, outgoing, and spirited students who share the common goal of involving the entire YVHS student body, inside and outside of school.

Juliana Jimenez, freshman: “Yelling chants at the games we go to.”

Megan Bock, senior: “Being able to spend time at sports events, or any event, and cheering on our school.”
