Staged homes sell faster and for more money. Giving your home an updated, fresh paint of coat inside and out is one way to give your home the best chance to sell and for what you want, without spending a lot of money.

Go all Neutral:
Neutral does not mean to paint everything bright white. You want to pick colors that are pleasing to the eye, but not harsh or stark. Use colors that will enhance the buyer’s walk through experience. You can use stronger colors that have neutral tones.

Colors like:
Barley
Stone
Sand
Light Olive
Elephant Tusk
Beige

Remove Wallpaper:
While wallpaper is making a comeback, it is not something you want up on your walls if you are selling your home. Have wallpaper, wall decals, stenciling or any other stylized wall covering and paint with a neutral color instead.

Fresh Paint = More Space:
Lightening up a room will immediately make it look more spacious and bright. When a buyer walks in you want them to feel that your space is clean, fresh, filled with light and large. Darker colors, even accent walls can make your space feel tighter and crowded.

Don’t forget the outside:
When it comes to someone buying your home, first impressions are everything. Be sure to give the outside of your home a fresh coat of paint. If you can’t paint the entire house, have the front door, window trim, and mailbox painted. While you are at it, power wash decks, patios, your home exterior and driveway. Power-washing can be more cost effective way to change the outside of your home without spending much.
