Storm Debris and Cleanup

Parts of the region experienced significant storm damage, thousands are still without power. Other parts of the region experienced storms that left a good amount of debris in their lawn. Several cities throughout the region have set up spots to drop off storm debris.

Here are the drop-off points and instructions for storm-debris drop off:
Kansas City: Information about all KC locations for brush and debris drop off can be found on this neighborhood services page.
Lenexa: Residents may drop off storm debris at the Lenexa Municipal Services Center, 7700 Cottonwood St, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, July 28. Proof of Lenexa residency is required.
Merriam: Merriam will be have curbside tree limb pickup starting Tuesday. Look for an announcement about which days they will be picking up in which neighborhoods.
Mission: Residents can leave limbs at Mohawk Park, 67th Street and Lamar Avenue. Do not leave construction debris or other material — no commercial vehicles can drop off debris. Mission residents only.
Overland Park: Residents can drop off storm debris at Young’s Pool, 8421 W 77th Street, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday, July 30. Proof of Overland Park residency is required and debris from commercial vehicles is not accepted.
Shawnee: Residents can drop off tree limbs and branches at the southwest corner of Johnson Drive and Renner Road from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Saturday, July 29. The drop off location is for Shawnee residents only.
