Hi guys. I haven’t posted in a little while, but as always, Don and I have been working daily on Zabuyaki. What’s new? The usual: new animations, new features, bug fixes, refactoring, polishing, and so on. We’ll unveil all of the interesting stuff later on, as I wouldn’t be able to fit everything in a single blog post.
For now, here are two short videos of our basic enemy girls in action, that I introduced a couple of weeks ago.
Here’s Sveta (the one with the ponytail):
And Zeena (the short-haired one):
They share some moves and attacks, but also have their own. Zeena can jump and kick in the air. Sveta can’t jump, but can perform sliding kicks and high kicks (anti-air attack). As always, this is a work in progress. We plan to make some adjustments later.
For now I’m done drawing animations for them, as I’ve covered all of the basic actions I had in mind. I might go back to them later to add some intro animations (the way they enter the stage or stay idle), as well as possibly giving them the ability to wield weapons, but that can wait.
What will I draw next? Other than giving a few more moves to existing characters, my next big task is to animate Beatnick, the boombox gopnik.
