We’re excited to announce that Zamphyr has partnered with GitHub Education as a partner school, to help learners get access to best collaboration tools and experience real-life collaboration on projects through Github’s platform. We’re a building a platform for a different paradigm of education, as Zamphyr puts people first, and as such we put a lot of emphasis on collaboration, exploration, communication and sharing. We also support modern employers to look for students track records in their work, not in their credentials. As an important part of our work with people we work on open source project with our learners, because of our belief in sharing and convergence of knowledge as cornerstones of a new education that we are working hard to build.

How Github Education helps learners

Zamphyr’s learners will have free access to a suite of tools like:

Through this partnership we hope to equip learners with all the tools they need to showcase their projects and collaborate with others on their code, for free. It’s all about facilitating students ideas, providing infrastructure for things that not all learners have access to. We hope to motivate learners and inspire them to create, share and work with others. One thing we are very proud of is that this benefit will not be limited by location, age or any other preference. With Github’s help we’re able to deliver these benefits to all learners across the globe, which is paramount to a community like Zamphyr’s.

For many digital natives, first exposure to open source and to other people’s code was through Github, and that culture of sharing and enabling other through free and open source software and hardware is a mission we subscribe to and support any time, anywhere. We believe that this partnership will have a strong impact on our learners.

As we work to improve content related to Git and version control in our corpus, we will start to roll out the benefits to contributors first. Benefits for all learners with a Zamphyr ID will be available soon, so watch your Zamphyr notifications.
