The power of decentralization: how a simple concept changed the entire industry. This is a case study on YouTube, Airbnb and Zangi decentralized messaging app. What are the similarities and how do these platforms change the way we live?

Imagine a company that is not controlled by a central entity or a person. Instead, there are countless independent units and people who are not controlled by anybody. That’s how YouTube, Airbnb and several other platforms work.

Let’s analyze how each of these platforms work and understand why Zangi decentralized messaging app is like them.

YouTube

This platform has revolutionized the lives of creative people who were given a chance to create and share their stories, life events or short films with the community without having to be famous or spending money on the production of their short videos.

The idea worked well solely because people were tired of the fact that they had to become more or less famous, go to a ton of auditions and spend their time and money to be allowed to shoot a video or be advertised on TV.

YouTube model allowed everyone who was creative enough and had a cheap camera to express themselves and create their own brand from zero. There was no need to be employed by YouTube and there was no censorship or restrictions. You could talk about politics and other “forbidden” topics without being blocked or fired.

Of course, there are some regulations trying to restrict the adult content or harmful speech these days. But, overall, the platform is free for every individual to use, create and evolve as a brand without being controlled by one central entity or a middleman.

Airbnb

Popular among frequent travelers, this platform is a result of too much monopolization and control. People were tired of paying for overpriced hotels which were regulated by the Government or big corporations.

Airbnb created a platform where homeowners can rent out their flats with the price they think is acceptable. Thus, people are able to establish and pay the price they think is good in spite of the external changes. The same decentralized concept works for the Uber or other services like Lyft.

As Arsen Tomsky tells, because of the low temperature, local taxi services doubled their prices at some point. This caused a backlash and people created a group where car owners helped people to get to their destinations. This initiative turned into a mobile app where people would suggest the price they are willing to pay for the ride and the car owners would respond to the request once they agree with the tariff.

Zangi

Zangi is a messaging app based on a decentralized model. If we compare Zangi messenger with YouTube and Airbnb, we can see the pattern: all these platforms are decentralized.

Unlike other messengers, Zangi servers are not located in one place, and no user data is stored on the servers. This means, there is no control over the user data by Zangi or anyone else. In this context, the messaging app that is decentralized is safe.

Zangi decentralized messaging app does not have access to their users data whatsoever. In case the local Government or any other company tries to buy the data, Zangi will simply not be able to provide it.

The modern society cares about its privacy and autonomy. That’s why decentralized platforms like YouTube, Airbnb, Wikipedia, UpWork and Zangi will always have a big demand. And, if some of these platforms are more or less controlled and regulated by the companies, Zangi decentralized messaging app is the only platform to refuse collecting and selling any personal information of their users.
