Things move quickly in web3. To help our community stay on top of the latest developments at Zapper, we share regular product updates that recap Zapper’s newest features, protocol integrations, and upcoming initiatives.

In this update we can finally share details about some of the social features that have been in the works for our dashboard, including the followers feature. We revisit the new bridge integration, share a smol privacy feature update, and summarize the launch of our Community Fund. Finally, we catch up with what is happening in Discord, Zapper Learn, protocol and network integrations, and then we close with some sweet sweet ALPHA.

Introducing Social Features

On Monday we announced the launch of our new Followers feature, which lets users follow their favourite wallets on the Zapper dashboard.

From the homepage you can see how many wallets you are following, how many followers you have, and your rank on the followers leaderboard. Clicking on any of these numbers will take you to a page where you can find lists of who you are following, your followers, and the full leaderboard.

How Does it Work?

You can use the leaderboard page to browse for popular or trendy wallets, while getting ranking updates in real-time. You can search for specific wallets from the search bar and hit “follow” to make it easy to refer back to those portfolios.

Please note that the first time you click “follow,” you will have to sign a transaction to enable this social feature. There is no gas fee associated with this signature.

New and Improved Bridge Feature

We recently partnered with Socket to revamp and relaunch our in-app bridge feature. This update means it is easier than ever to move your tokens from one chain to another without leaving the Zapper dashboard.

Socket finds and offers the best route based on the token you are bridging, and the networks you are trying to bridge between. We currently support bridging tokens back and forth between Ethereum Mainnet, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, BSC, Fantom, Gnosis Chain, and Optimism.

If you need a refresher on what a bridge is and how it works, check out our Zapper Learn article on the topic.

Smol: Privacy Mode

Want to show your wallet to your friends without revealing your total net worth, or brag about your latest NFT acquisition without displaying the value of all your assets? You can now enable Privacy mode from the homepage, which has been improved to better obscure your net worth for safer sharing.

Community Updates

Zapper Community Fund

Earlier this month, we launched the Zapper Community Fund, a dedicated community budget that will allow us to further grow and support our community by rewarding contributors who are helping to cultivate a welcoming and helpful environment in our Discord, who are motivated to organize events for our community, and who contribute to Zapper Learn.

In the early stages of this fund, four categories will receive funding:

Reminder: February Community Call

Community Calls continue to be a highlight for our core team. At the last Community Call, we broke a record for number of community members listening in: well over 1,000 people tuned in!

The next call takes place tomorrow, Thursday February 17, at 1:00PM EST (6:00PM UTC) in Discord. Join us to talk about what’s new at Zapper, to be introduced to a few of our newest terminators, and of course, to hear an educational presentation on a relevant web3 topic.

To ensure you never miss out on a Zapper event, you can subscribe to our Community event calendar by importing the following URL into a calendar app: https://sesh.fyi/calendar/8U9BUxqLboVpkci3U15CEe.ics

Zapper Learn

Thanks to our Community Fund, Zapper Learn content production has been kicked into high gear. We have partnered with Layer3 to source Learn articles from community members.

Bounties for needed content are posted on Layer 3, submissions are reviewed by our Content Strategist, and the best submission for each bounty is edited for publication on Zapper Learn.

We pay our published writers at a competitive rate of $0.50 USDC per word, up to 750 words. As we learn from this new process, we hope to increase the number of opportunities available for our community to earn rewards for their contributions to Zapper Learn, and beyond!

Some recent articles written by incredible community members include:

One of our terminators also published a very important guide to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), how they work, and when you might want to consider using one.

Protocol Integrations

Our team is always working on integrating new protocols for users to view on their dashboard. There are quite a few new integrations to recap, and one new network integration to celebrate. We are pleased to share that Gnosis Chain is the latest network to debut on Zapper!

In addition to providing support for Gnosis Chain, we also integrated Gnosis Chain protocols Curve, Sushiswap and Honeyswap .

On Arbitrum, we integrated Jones DAO and Vesta Finance; on Avalanche, we now support Float Capital, Platypus Finance, and PoolTogether; on Optimism, we support Curve, and on Polygon, we integrated Float Capital.

What’s Next

We have shipped a lot in the last month. A lot! But the updates we have announced are just the tip of the iceberg. We have added many new members to our core team in the last few months, which has allowed us to plan, build, and coordinate releases like never before.

Our Terminator-in-Chief took a break from shipping to provide a concise summary of (almost) everything we have on the go:

The launch of Followers sets the stage for us to roll out a series of features that aim to make the experience of using Zapper to track and discover information about your web3 portfolio more interactive and social. These updates include an activity feed, where you will be able to scroll through an overview of recent activity in the wallets you follow.

The mobile app is still on track. You can look forward to teasers of app features towards the end of February, ahead of a final beta-testing period and then the official launch at the end of March.

We also cannot wait to roll out a way for protocols and community members to add their own integrations to our dashboard, as well as a suite of new NFT features including a built-in rarity system.

A lot is in the works, and we hope you are as excited as we are!
