I am working remotely since 2013, and I love it. I’ve always been an advocate of remote work culture, and 55% of Zazzy people are remote from day one. Whenever I discussed working from anywhere model with fellow entrepreneurs, I’ve always discovered productivity issues.

But, the pandemic has forced us all to go on this model, and surprisingly, almost everyone loves it. According to the survey of Accenture, 63% of high-growth companies have already adopted a “productivity anywhere” workforce model.

Many people enjoy this freedom, working in pajamas, attending calls from a beach, and avoiding daily traffic hustle. However, some people have experienced drawbacks — Distractions, internet issues, lowered work-life balance, and many more.

That’s where I feel a hybrid work environment is the future. Workers’ desire for greater control over flexibility and freedom is a core of hybrid. In Feb 2021, Workplace Intelligence & Savanta Inc. surveyed 2000 people (1000 C-suite & 1000 non-C-suite employees in the US) in collaboration with WeWork and, the numbers are interesting.

  • 53% of employees want to work in an office three days per week or fewer.
  • 64% of employees would pay out of their pocket for access to an office space.
  • 75% of employees would give up at least one workplace perk for the freedom to choose their work environment.
  • 79% of the C-suite plan to let their employees split their time between corporate offices and remote working.

In the new hybrid workplace model, employees will have the flexibility to work from different environments as they wish. For example, imagine you start your Monday on the home couch and spend 2–3 days a week in the office for a change.

Hybrid is fittest for everyone, people who love Structure & sociability and people with preferences of independence & flexibility. Some will work from an office and others from wherever they want to.

Zazzy continues to be a hybrid workplace where we will keep our office operational out of WeWork Pune. So people can work out of an office or anywhere in the world. That keeps our crew happy, motivated, and productive.

I’m excited about the future and eager to see how different companies turn their workplaces into hybrid, remote or traditional.
