Screwing up is underrated

My home desk in lockdown

I wake up to this desk every morning and I imply what’s written there. Here to tattle about screw-ups we do in our day-to-day lives and pushing the boundaries.

Working with some of the smartest individuals over time, I noticed everyone screws up. I lost tally on all the times I screwed up. Some of them are so wacky and dumb. That may be a stupid remark on a client call, a typo in a crucial email, or a dumb move while approaching a girl.

Now I carry these failures as a badge, as deep down it has doubled my chances of success. With this, I don’t know what will work but I know what will not. That has been a game-changer.

In 2019, my life turned upside-down. I was hit hard by failures in my professional and personal life, all at once. Amidst all this turmoil, founded Zazzy in 2020.

I applied the same approach with Zazzy. Here there is no managerial hierarchy and everyone has open access. Zazzy encourages interns/freshers to communicate with clients and stakeholders. That allows them to make mistakes, learn from them and grow.

Fear of screwing up pulls you back and halts your growth. It is the same thing as feeling like you’re not good enough.

You won’t achieve what you want unless you try, unless you dare to fail, and unless you push your boundaries.

I hope this hits you like a punch in the gut because the solution is simple. You will have to push through it. You won’t learn to overcome your fear if you don’t push yourself outside of your comfort zone.

Hope you get the strength to do whatever you wish. Cheers! 🍻
