Our guide to fixed term policies
In our last post, we looked at pay-as-you-go delivery insurance and how it can help riders and drivers who are doing a couple of hours of delivery work per week. But we know that our pay-as-you-go insurance doesn’t suit all workers.
Zego also offers 30 day and annual policies, designed for riders and drivers who work full-time. In this post, we’ll cover any questions you may have around our 30 day and annual policies and help you to understand whether a fixed term policy is the right option for you.
How do fixed term policies work?
With Zego’s fixed term policies, you pay for cover that protects you for a defined amount of time. You can purchase a policy that is valid for the full duration of 30 days or one year. From that point, you will have insurance cover in place until the expiration date of your policy.
What does it cover me for?
Zego’s 30 day and annual scooter insurance includes both cover for your personal use (Social, Domestic & Pleasure or SD&P for short) and for your deliveries (Hire & Reward, H&R for short). That means that with our 30 day and annual insurance, you have cover in place for both your work and your free time.
Scooter riders can also purchase SD&P insurance that does not include cover for deliveries and have the option to use our pay-as-you-go delivery insurance at a cheaper rate.
How much does it cost?
This is a difficult question to answer because fixed term policies can vary from person to person in terms of how much it will cost. The best way to find out how much a 30 day or annual policy will cost you is to download the Zego app from the App Store or Google Play and to complete your registration.
How does payment work?
With all fixed term policies, there will be an upfront fee to pay. For annual policies, you have the option either to pay for the full year in one go or to pay in a series of monthly instalments. With our 30 day policies, you are able to set your insurance up to renew automatically each month, so you can have cover for as long as you need to.
What if I want to cancel?
If you want to cancel a fixed term policy, there may be a certain percentage of the overall premium that is payable. How much that will be depends on how long you have had your cover in place for. This can mean that you have to pay some money towards the cancellation of your insurance policy.

Are fixed term policies for me?
If you consider yourself as a full-time delivery driver or you regularly work over 20 hours per week, you may wish to consider our fixed term policies. That is because our 30 day or annual policy can work out as being more cost effective than our pay-as-you-go options for full-time riders.
