ZELF Update: banking buttons in WhatsApp and new menu structure

TL;DR

1️⃣ Zelf in WhatsApp is now fully interactive. No more “press 1 for balance”, no more typing commands — “there are buttons for that” with app-like banking experience without any installations.

2️⃣ Matching navigation across Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram and Viber with a new faster menu 🏎 and fewer buttons.

Interactive menus in WhatsApp, probably worlds’ first!

Until now tens of thousands of Zelfers in WhatsApp had to text their responses to the bot, so when we received this long-awaited button feature in July, we jumped on the opportunity to bring great user experience to all Zelfers.

The buttons in WhatsApp were designed primarily for customer care automation and limited only to three at a time (probably “Yes / No / Maybe”), but we were able to repurpose them to build the first full-scale financial service business. We are happy and proud to further improve our usability utilising WhatsApp platform in such an unconventional way.

All main actions in ZELF bot were transformed into buttons. View balance, reveal the card, order statement, top up the card and more with just one touch!

If you are already a Zelfer, the new version is already in your messenger, updates are instant and automatic without any downloads.

New Zelf chatbot design

Until the technology is fully voice and gesture driven like in the movie “Minority report”, we will work hard to minimize the number of your clicks and taps. Following our more-with-less principle we further simplified the menu to declutter your banking experience. The main menu is now just 3 buttons:
