Out in the wide expanse of the land,
It stood out in the moving and shifting sand,
A wild and beautiful desert rose,
Striking in its beauty and its pose.
The perfume of that rose divine,
Wafted on a breeze filled with wine.
The thorns simply added to its beauty,
As it stood out on that sandy sea.
From across the sands came the traveler,
There was no place for him to rest here.
He found a large rock on the white sands,
He sat down to rest as he touched the sands.

The heat was blistering, hot and the land was dry,
He prayed that water dropped from the sky.
He turned his head and looked around,
To see a large cactus standing proudly on the ground.
He cut and drank from the cactus to quench his thirst,
He could not drink more, or he would burst.
He was making his journey to rescue his love,
He was the hawk to her sweet dove.
He looked around and he saw a sign,
Their love was true and so divine.
He saw that beautiful rose standing tall,
On the desert sands and desert wall.
