O’ Ye Proud Hearted
A Throwback Poem
I wrote this when I was 15, and we were consuming a lot of Shakespeare in class. As I read the poem after many years, this thought came to me, I better share this with my Medium audience. I hope you are as excited to read it as I am to share.
O' Ye proud hearted!
T’was not thee who beat thine chest
and said, I’ll always be the best?
T’was thee indeed who strut thine wings,
And with all the earth’s impudence sings;
Among all your crowns and sceptres, who dares challenge me?
Not one! ‘Cause ye all leave me be.
Poor conceited fellow! Thus, even with all thine pride
Thou couldn’t even keep the bride
And so t’was, thee who named thyself Lord, Master and Brave
Thyself and thine pride ended up in grave!
