Take Me Away

Take Me to a World, a Time Like That

Where expectations meet the dust,
And hopes dry drier than the sands of deserts,
Take me to that land,
Take me to that point in time,
When nothing matters.

Where winds don’t rise just to fall,
And leaves don’t sprout, only to cover it all
In green but later abandon the very world
To the fate of snow,
Take me to a world, a time such as that.

Where people don’t meet to part ways,
Where roads don’t diverge,
Where things have no end or beginning,
Where Constance is the only constant,
And life is still and lifeless,
Take me there,
Where our souls rest peacefully under bright moonlight,
And sleep eternally.

Take me away,
From these games of expectations and disappointments,
My heart is tired of it,
I want to sleep now,
Take me to a place and time like that.
