You’ll Stay You

You don’t have to be anything more

Don’t carry the burden of the world on your legs,
You’ll still be you, regardless,
If you ever reach the peak or not,
Or spend your lifetime living on this countryside farm.

Because when the sun shines tomorrow,
You can still smile like every day,
And that smile will not change much,
If watching the sunrise still lights up your eyes.

And when the day slowly comes to an end,
Sit by and watch the crimson sun rays,
Which will keep you warm another night,
Unless you want to sleep under the starry sky,
And gaze at the Milky Way and catch shooting stars,
Until you fall asleep, dreaming of pleasant bygones.

You can still plan trips to distant places,
And eat your favorite foods,
And stroll through the wilds whenever you want,
Or get lost in treacherous woods,
Without a map.

I know times get tough, but hold on,
And take good care of your soul,
Give it the nourishing it needs,
And don’t think much about what the future holds.

I know it is important for you to embark
On this adventure and search for gold,
But don’t be afraid to fail,
Because if you come back without treasure,
You’ll still bring you,
And you’re all you need to live the life,
And life will go on; do not worry about that.

Try all you want, but be assured,
You’ll still be you,
And you don’t have to be anything more.
