Gauzy strands of grass,
Bend like fallen dominos,

Bubbles of dew remain.
Entranced and
By the wind’s loud gasps…

A turtle’s hopeful face,
Comes into eye view,

His cautious gaze,
Surveys the meek plants —
Twirling with youth,
Below his ancient toes,

His coffee-tinted shell,
Encases a soft interior.
