What I see is not what I feel (image by author)

At first glance, looking at this tree trunk, it seems that there is nothing here anymore.

It looks as if this trunk belonged to a tree that was once here and has now gone.

However, contemplating it for a while, it seems to me that this is not the case.

It seems that the presence of the tree is still there, I can still feel the life of that tree.

Even just this trunk still seems to be able to perform various functions.

It’s a place I can sit.
It allows me to feel the texture of the wood, observe its color and the patterns that time has left on it.

This log is still a home for the many forms of life that inhabit it.

It still brings back memories, good memories, of Qi Gong exercises, of moments of calm and reflection shared here.

Good memories, still vivid, that this space and this trunk are part of.
It’s a part of our nature

This piece of nature is part of our nature.

This tree still has life.
It is still connected to the trees around it.
It still welcomes me when I arrive and allows me to stop.
It still helps me find calm.
It’s still…
