Howdy Zengineers,

We’re joined this week by fellow tech entrepreneur and climate change advocate, Christophe Jospe from Nori. What’s Nori you might ask? Well, sometimes it’s edible seaweed that comes in handy flat packs for snacking, but in this case, it’s a Blockchain company working to reverse climate change through innovative means of measurement, verification, and tracking. Christophe is also a host on Nori’s podcast called “Reversing Climate Change,” which is one of Brian’s favorite podcasts.

You might be thinking–Blockchain … Climate Change … Podcasting–where did this person come from, and how do they have so much in common with recent interests of Zengineering? Well … we’re not sure, but this conversation is certainly a sharing of all kinds of excitement and intrigue as we explore these important and complex spaces with Christophe.

In this fourth episode in Zengineering’s series on Climate Change, we start off by asking Christophe to take us down the rabbit hole of Reducing Carbon Production. What are carbon offsets, where do they exist now, how do they work, and where does Nori fit in? What’s the difference between Carbon Offset, Carbon Capture, and Carbon Removal? It’s important!

Christophe makes it clear that rethinking how we produce and use the waste products from global energy production are a critical issue to reversing climate change in this century. And, innovative businesses like Nori and creative economic models are the key our future successes. We simply can’t keep dumping our trash into the atmosphere where it seeps into our oceans and heats up the planet. It’s a complicated road Nori is heading down, but one that’s sure to have a prolific impact helping to reduce excess carbon on planet Earth.

We hope you enjoy this conversation with Christophe, and as always, let us know what you like, or dislike in the comment below, rate and review Zengineering on iTunes, and support Zengineering on Patreon.

Cheers,

Adam & Brian
