How To Rise After a Job Loss Using These Two Japanese Concepts
After reading Ikigai by Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia, there is no way I am going back to old thinking
It is a prize no one wants to win, although it grants time off, it also causes severe depression in some — and in most it deletes their current livelihood. This “prize” is none other than losing a job or getting fired from one, which has been happening a lot lately. In 1933, the nation saw a high rise in unemployment (The Great Depression) and around April 2020, unemployment peaked at about 14.7%(we know why). The grand question remains: How does someone recover after losing a job?
I’m not sure “recover” is the appropriate word. Perhaps the question should be, can you be resilient and bounce back like rubber after such a loss?
Last year when the managers told me to jump in a video conference call with them in the middle of the day, I knew my time was coming. I felt it like I could feel the rain about to drop — you know that crisp, earthy wet smell right before the sprinkle.
I knew they would let me go.
They sure did.
I reacted like most would.
